Where it all began...

To grow an excepcional coffee you need extraordinary conditions. We are talking about: weather, humidity, highness, fertility, all in one place. More than finding a land to cultivate we discover paradise. A quiet and uncharted niche, hidden in the heart of Amazonas, deep in the Jungle.
Ecuador has indescribable landscapes, across Los Andes, and this is not the exception. Mountain tops, crystal clear rivers and Reventador volcano, are  part of our scenario, along with beautiful unknown species running through our coffee lands. Ready to Join us in this lifetime experience?

Reventador

It is known that volcanic ground and of course volcanic ashes are the best fertilizer, purely organic matter to feed our coffee.
Very, very close to La Josefin you find Reventador, an active stratovolcano which lies in the eastern Andes of Ecuador.
Since 1541 it has erupted over 25 times, although its isolated location means that many of its eruptions have gone unreported.
Its most recent eruption began in 2008 and is ongoing until today. The largest historical eruption occurred in 2002.
During that eruption the plume from the volcano reached a height of 17 km and pyroclastic flows went up to 7 km from the cone.
No injuries or damages have been reported.
The volcano's main peak lies inside a U-shaped caldera which is open towards the Amazon basin to the east.
During the night, in the silence you can hear constantly the Reventador rumbling, you can't miss that show.
This is one of our secret ingredients.
